24 hours after putting that leaky dam up and send more water down the whole valley, and we e got little wet areas like this filling up beautifully. Frogs, beavers, newts, all gonna love it.

After a long day coppicing with a bunch of amazing volunteers I popped down to see how this little pond is filling up after 24 hours of leaky dam and blocked up land drain. Huge change since yesterday! The whole area is covered in an inch or two of water, and loads more water up the valley floor from the drain. #Wetland #rewilding

What if you stopped caring about everything you currently think is important.

What if you gave up your home.

Gave up comfort.

Gave up stability.

Fucked off everything on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs entirely.

Just spent ten years doing what everyone else didn’t bother doing for climate and community and it made you happy.

What then.

Today was the best thing I have done in my life and I’ve waited two years to do it. Team got stuck in to make it happen.

Digger track snapped off and we got it all done anyway with our bare hands.

Ahh no I’m getting in trouble with randos on the internet for doing the right thing. Shucks.

Whenever there is a decision to be made between improving access for people with mobility issues scrambling over a slippery wooden stile, and a fun little novelty for completely able bodied people, there is an obvious decision to make that is legally entirely ours to make. 🫡
